More on Reiki...

Its current form was first developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui, who reportedly taught 2,000 people the Reiki method during his lifetime. The practice spread to the U.S. through Hawaii in the 1940s, and then to Europe in the 1980s.

Why Energy Healing?

Energy frequently stagnates in the body where an injury has occurred, either to the emotional or the physical body.

Over time, these energy blocks are prone to cause illness in various forms, often unexplained by modern medical science.

When illness occurs but cannot be found in the physical systems of the body, we must look at the emotional and spiritual aspects.

Reiki is a type of energy healing targeting the energy fields around the body, aiming to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure, improving the flow of energy around the body.

While Reiki is unable to be "scientifically proven,"  the practice has had centuries of undeniable success in bridging the gap between the failures of pharmaceutical science and medical phenomena.  While modern medicine tend to treat symptoms of illnes, holistic energy healing modalities focus on the core and cause of illness:  healing from the inside out rather than short-term solutions full of unknown side-effects.

Reiki harnesses the light, the energy, the spiritual guidance and shines it back out into the world.  No spells or magic potions, just intentional healing vibrations.  We could use a little more light among all this darkness.

What happens during a Reiki session?

Reiki sessions typically last 60 to 90 minutes.

Arrive 5 minutes early to fill out paperwork and prepare for the session.

Expect to spend the entire session lying fully clothed on a treatment table. You may be on your back for the full session, or the practitioner may have you roll onto your stomach at some point. Just make sure to tell the practitioner beforehand if you’re pregnant or can’t lie flat.
