About the Event

Innate Illumination's Trauma-Informed Introspective Breathwork Therapy

In this session, we welcome you to join us in your current state, just as you are. We hold a safe space for each individual to explore their inner self, feelings, experiences, and bodily sensations through conscious connected breathing.

Prior to the session, we will introduce ourselves and set intentions to enhance the experience. As we begin, you'll learn conscious connected breathing techniques and trust that your body will guide you through the session. A soft playlist will accompany the 40-45 minute breathwork period, with occasional guidance to help you come back to the breath.

Towards the end of the session, we will practice grounding techniques and form an open circle for those who want to share their experience. Sharing is an excellent way to integrate your experience into your life, but it is not mandatory. Journaling, artwork, walking, yoga, meditation, dancing, singing, or any other activity your soul desires are also effective ways to integrate.

We welcome you to bring supportive items such as a yoga mat, block, blankets, pillows, tissues, water, chapstick, and crystals. Bringing your own materials is recommended, but we will have extras available in the studio. We also bring crystals for those interested in incorporating them into their session.

Thank you for taking the time to prioritize your well-being and joining us. 🙏✨

Words from your Facilitator:

My name is Macy Gough, I grew up in Kansas City and am very passionate about energy healing and holistic medicine.

In 2017, I was diagnosed with Manic Depressive Bi-Polar Disorder, and in 2020, with Lupus. Although I no longer associate with these diagnoses and have found ways to naturally heal my mind and body, this is a part of my story that I feel needs to be shared. I began my health journey when I had no place to turn. After discovering a more natural food regimen, I began to heal at a cellular level. My body started to thank me and that soon led to cutting out toxins in all areas of my life. After a while, I noticed a huge difference in my mood and overall health. I soon started yoga practices and it changed my life forever. I began to heal the energy within me and found my breath for the first time in 25 years. This has been a journey of ups and downs, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

“The wound is where the light enters you.” - Rumi

I made my ‘mess’ my ‘mess’age. I believe all parts of our journey are here for a reason. I have learned that anything is possible and that I am the creator of my life. I found One Breath Institute shortly after beginning yoga and meditation, and am currently training to become a certified trauma-informed Introspective Breathwork Therapy practitioner. Currently, I’m offering free 1:1 and group sessions to earn my credit hours. I welcome donations for the event, that will go to Mystic Medicine KC for providing a space of healing.

I believe we are our own healers, and that we have the innate ability to find what works for us. This may look different from person to person. This is what makes each individual’s journey so unique and special. Introspective Breathwork Therapy has helped me find what that looks like for me.
